Dorman softball coach Brooks Guyton has stepped down from his position, Vibram Five Fingers Kso athletic director Flynn Harrell said on Wednesday. Guyton resigned as coach for personal reasons prior to spring break last week, Harrell said, but will remain as a physical education teacher at Gable Middle School. Guyton was 17-29 entering this season, including 3-7 in Region II-4A last year. Dorman is currently Men's Vibram FiveFingers Bikila Grey-Yellow in the region this year. Assistant coach Tiffany Pitcher has been promoted to head coach through the end of the season. Harrell said there are no immediate plans to discuss the softball opening but that Pitcher would be among those considered. "Right now we're dealing with our girls basketball opening, but (Tiffany) is guiding us Men's Vibram FiveFingers Bikila Navy-Blue the remainder of the year," he said. "She will be a strong candidate for the job permanently." The girls basketball position opened after former coach Kristy Ray resigned unexpectedly last month. The Cavaliers finished 15-10 overall and 7-5 in the region this past season. Harrell said approximately 30 applications have been received regarding the girls basketball position. "We've had the opening posted almost two weeks," he said.
