Distilling turpentine also wasn't easy. Jeff got station one, where you cut a square shaped Jimmy Choo Shoes in the tree and barrel the sap (I think it's sap?). I got station two, where you roll the barrels from station one into the appropriate place for it to be drained, and back to the first station. It seems easy: you roll an empty barrel from one spot to another. However, it is not easy in heeled boots. Take my word on that. The palace is massive and walking in heels is not exactly easy on gravel, dirt and uneven bricks. Once we got bored with working on our days off, we headed over to the palace itself, and I was in heaven. The gardens certainly weren't at their best, as to be expected this time of year, but it was still amazing. We only visited the kitchen garden, but it was nice. From there we went inside the palace, and I have concluded that one day I will make lots of money and create one all for me. There are tons of rooms, many of which include furniture from Gov. Josiah Martin, who succeeded Gov. Tryon. The lovely lady who gave our tour knew much more about the property than I ever expected to know. The downside to the tour is that it is incredibly warm upstairs where the governor and his family, and their guests slept. However, where the high-level servants slept, it was rather comfortable.
