Tiffany Towner, the deputy managing editor, won a second place award Tiffany Cushion the business category for her directing staff in the production of The Northeast Driller, Vol. 1 No. 6, a four-section, 36-page broadsheet section of the daily newspaper.The Northeast Driller is a bi-monthly insert in the daily newspaper. The contest was sponsored by the Pennsylvania Associated Press Managing Editors. Her work was entered in Category Tiffany Elsa Peretti Teardrop pendant for newspapers of 15,000 or under. Nancy Sharer, a correspondent, won a second place award for her feature story entitled, "Sayre man remembers D-Day." The Keystone Press Awards contest was sponsored by The Pennsylvania Newspaper Association Foundation. Hosie, editor, won an honorable mention for editorial writing for a package of three editorials he wrote. The works were entitled: "The Motts: A sad saga drags on;" "An honest good-bye to the sheriff;" and, "Marino friendship raises question of corruption."
