This was the fourth year that the students of North Dickinson Elementary School participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring, a national youth effort to fight hunger. The students at North Dickinson Elementary collected 638 items to be donated to Project SHARE. Principal Jeff Bell organized the Souper Bowl of Discount Hublot in its first year at the school and then passed the project to student volunteers. "It's for a good purpose," said fourth-grader Dominick Delorenzo, one of the student organizers. "So far, we've served 100 families." "I think it's more than 100," fourth-grader Tyler Blais said. To organize the service project, Dominick and Tyler made signs and wrote announcements, collected boxes and counted the items, they said.Winners were named in five categories -- exhibit, documentary, website, performance and research papers -- and in two divisions -- junior (grades 6 through 8) and senior (grades 9 through 12).
