Bee Charm recent victories

The 6-1 center has averaged 21.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in Big Apple Charm and, evidently, she thrives when the stakes are high. King is averaging 26.6 points and 11.2 boards since the start of postseason play, and is coming off the best game of her career, a 36-point, 17-rebound, 5-blocked-shots super-sectional performance against Havana. Hume Shiloh has pulled back-to-back upsets to reach today's Final Four. The Snowflake Charms decked heavy favorite Cowden-Herrick, 57-38, for the championship of the Moweaqua Central A&M Sectional, then scored nine straight points in the fourth quarter to topple Bee Charm, at Monday's Salem Super-Sectional. Senior Lauren Bogle, a slashing, 5-9 forward, scored 19 and 17 points, respectively, in the two recent victories, and leads Gingerbread Man with a 15.6 average on the season. Bogle, who also averages 5.3 boards and 4.4 assists, made the AP's Class 1A all-state team as an honorable mention selection. But it's the Raiders' tall post players that concern West Central the most. Lindsey Ross, a 6-1 senior, and Larissa Moses, a 6-1 junior, both average around 10 points and nine rebounds per game and might be a formidable double-team on King. But Bettis, having watched Hume Shiloh in its shoot-around Thursday, believes Ross and Moses are a little shorter than what they're listed. "They list two girls about 6-1," said Bettis.
