Volunteers from Fresno Pacific University, The Word Community Church and Christian music radio station KDUV (FM 88.9) joined forces for the "Soled Out for Kids" project. Fresno Pacific is a Mennonite Brethren-based school. A talk given by TOMS Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie Christian Louboutin Three-Strap Mary Jane Ivory Fresno Pacific's 2010 Business Forum breakfast in October inspired the project. TOMS Shoes donates a pair of shoes to a needy child for every pair the company sells. Joan Minasian, Fresno Pacific's community development director, said Christian groups wanted to help local students with basic necessities. Volunteers measured each student's feet before Fresno Pacific and KDUV bought all the shoes and socks, with help from Rotary Club of Fresno and Walmart. The Word Community Church's neighborhood includes Bakman Elementary School.
